Crystal Lakes


GENERAL: All anglers are required to VISIBLY WEAR their Crystal Lakes guest fishing pass. You must obtain a guest fishing pass at the Association’s office, located just inside the Crystal Lakes entrance on Tami Road. A Colorado Fishing License is not required to fish in any lake or pond on Crystal Lakes property, but is required to fish the streams. Children under the age of 15 are not required to have a Colorado Fishing License.


ELIGIBILITY
: As a guest of Lone Pine Realty Vacation Rentals you are entitled to purchase a guest pass to fish the lakes and ponds on Crystal Lakes property.


GUEST FISHING POLICIES
: A daily guest pass is a 24 hour, midnight-to-midnight pass. You must present the Lone Pine Realty Guest Pass (from your check-in folder) at the Association office in order to purchase a guest pass. Please note that Crystal Lakes Association does not take credit cards.
 
Adult guest pass (15 year of age or older) $20.00 per day per person
Adult five day pass (must be consecutive days) $80.00 per person
Youth guest pass (9-14 years of age) $10.00 per day per peson
Youth five day pass (must be consecutive days) $40.00 per person
Child guest pass (under 9 years of age) Free
Children must be accompanied by a paying guest at least 15 years old.  They are required to wear a pass, which is free at the Association office.


CATCH AND RELEASE AREAS

All streams in the Crystal Lakes boundaries are catch-and-release, single hook, artificial lures and flies only.

The North Fork of the Poudre, east of Tami Road to the national forest boundary, is flies and lures only, barbless hooks recommended. All fish must be released immediately. Any fish found in possession will be considered to have been caught in the catch and release area and a $150.00, plus $20.00 per fish, fine will be assessed.

Cutthroat Pond at Beaver Park on Tiny Bob Road is catch and release only. All fish must be released immediately. FLIES ONLY -- no lures or bait. The same fine as above will be imposed for violations.


DAILY BAG LIMIT
:

Children under 9 years of age may catch one (1) fish. If the child continues to fish, they may apply their fish to their adult fishing partner’s daily bag limit, not to exceed four (4) fish altogether.

Youths 9 to 14 years of age may catch two (2) fish per day.

Adults 15 years of age or older may catch four (4) fish per day.


POSSESSION LIMIT
:

Eight (8) fish in storage per angler.

Fish caught and placed on a stringer, in a container or live well, or not returned to the water immediately are counted in the daily bag limit. Do not continue to fish after you have caught your limit.


BOATING REGULATIONS
:

Lone Pine Realty rents two canoes and one rowboat for use on Crystal Lake. The charge is $15.00 per day or $10 per half day. You must pay for the rental at the Lone Pine Realty Office and pick up the oars, paddles and life jackets at the time you pay. The boat and canoes are stored in the boat storage area at Crystal Lake. You may not launch a boat of your own and Crystal Lake is the only lake that allows boats of any kind. You must have one life jacket on board per occupant.


ICE FISHING SHELTERS
:

The shelter must be placed by hand. NO VEHICLES of any type are allowed on the ice. All ice fishing shelters must be removed when not in use.


GEAR
:

No live minnows may be used as bait.

No live bait may be used, with the exception of worms, grasshoppers, or leaches.

No fish may be taken except in the ordinary manner with ONE rod and a maximum of two (2) hooks.


VIOLATIONS
:

The Crystal Lakes Fishing Board monitors the fishing program and enforces the fishing regulations. Abuse of or failure to cooperate with a fishing security person is a regulation violation. Fishing security persons have the authority to confiscate guest passes from violators, make creel checks, and confiscate fish as evidence of violation.

Red Feather Lakes


GENERAL: The following private lakes are part of the Red Feather Storage and Irrigation Company:

Apache Lake
Lake Erie
Hiawatha Lake
Letitia Lake
Nokomis Lake
Snake Lake
Ramona Lake
Shagwa Lake

If you are renting a home in Red Feather Lakes and the owner has purchased a fishing membership, you may be eligible to fish the private lakes as a guest.

The daily fishing permit fees are:

Adult $30.00 per day per person
Junior (5-21 years of age) $10.00 per day per peson
Child (under years of age) Free

You must purchase your guest pass in advance from the Lone Pine Realty Vacation Rental Office. You do not have to have a Colorado Fishing License to fish in the private lakes.


GUEST FISHING POLICIES: Daily guest pass fishing is allowed from the beginning of Memorial Day weekend to October 31st. The guest pass must be properly filled out, punched and prominently displayed on the guest. Each permit is assigned to a specific person and is non-transferable. A daily pass is good for only one calendar day during the permitted fishing hours of 5:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.


BAG LIMITS AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Each adult is limited to 3 fish per day per lake, not to exceed a total of 6 fish per day. Each junior is limited to 2 fish per day per lake, not to exceed a total of 3 fish per day. Only one fishing pole is allowed per fisherman at any given time. Catching fish for others is not permitted. Fishing with live minnows is prohibited in all lakes.

Fishermen are required to maintain their catch in their possession at the each lake. Injured fish may NOT be thrown back into the lake. Due to the cost and purpose of stocking Grass Carp, do not keep or harm these fish. If caught, carp must be returned to the water immediately using the utmost care. All other fish caught with bait must be kept. Tiger Muskies must be kept regardless of how they are caught. Please notify the RFSI office or a patrolman when a Tiger Muskie is caught.

When transporting fish, guests are subject to Colorado Division of Wildlife possession limits of no more than eight fish in storage per angler.


APACHE LAKE: Walleye have been stocked in Apache as a method of perch control. Walleye under 17” must be returned to the lake; over 17” may be kept and do count toward your possession limit.


SHAGWA: Use barbless, single hook lures and flies only. One fish per day may be kept.


BOATING REGULATIONS: Guest fishermen are not permitted to use boats on any of the lakes since all boats must be registered with RFSI. Members may use boats without motors on Apache, Erie, Letitia, and Nokomis lakes. No boats or floatation devices are allowed on Snake, Ramona, or Shagwa lakes.


No swimming is permitted in any of the RFSI lakes.

The public lakes in the immediate Red Feather Lakes area are:

Parvin Lake
West Lake
Bellaire Lake
Creedmore Lake
Lost Lake

Please note there are many private lakes for member use only surrounding Red Feather Lakes and within the Crystal Lakes Subdivision boundaries. All private lakes are patrolled regularly.

In order to fish the public lakes, rivers and streams adults MUST have a valid Colorado fishing license. You may purchase a 1 day, 5 day or annual (resident or non-resident) license locally at the general stores in the Red Feather Village. Children under the age of 16 do not need a fishing license and can take a full bag and possession limit.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife maintains a website that lists all the current fishing rules and regulations. We recommend you visit this website: www.wildlife.state.co.us for information about fishing in the Red Feather Lakes area. Many of the streams and rivers are catch and release only, so you need to be familiar with the specific area in which you intend to fish.
