This older cabin reflects the charm of Red Feather Lakes Village.  Nestled among rock outcroppings on more than 2 acres, the cabin is within walking distance of Lake Letitia.  The covered front porch with its seating area and table provides a perfect spot for outdoor eating.  Grill your catch of the day and relax with your meal as you enjoy the cool, fresh evening mountain air.  If you prefer, the fenced back yard also affords a private place for dining.  Of course, there’s always the dining table inside the house.  Mild days will encourage you to walk around Lake Letitia or Dowdy Lake and enjoy the sounds and aromas of wildflowers and chirping birds.  Perhaps you’ll spot a chipmunk at play, a curious bunny, or a wandering deer nibbling the greenery.

Inside the cabin, a wood burning fireplace will warm you on cool evenings or during winter snows as you relax with family and friends in the living room or curl up with a good book in front of the fire’s glowing embers.  The interior décor is cozy and inviting, with an air of rustic mountain living.  The cabin seems to wrap itself around you.

 When bedtime beckons, retire for the night in the first floor bedroom or climb the stairs to the divided loft where two beds await.  Warm quilts cover the beds and invite you to enjoy a sound night’s sleep in clean mountain air.  Be sure to venture outside to enjoy the star filled sky and perhaps catch a glimpse of the Milky Way before you turn in.

 Hunting season is an ideal time to visit this cabin located close to the Roosevelt National Forest.  A drive of just a few minutes will take you to prime hunting areas.  Spring, summer and fall afford you many different reasons to make your mountain home away from home at Rocky Retreat.
